A Major Gift from the Walter Hubbell Employment Services Fund (April 2024)

By Mark Zawacki

The Walter Hubbell Employment Services Fund, founded in 2011, has been a steadfast partner of Heritage Christian Services. In February, the fund sponsors made a major gift to the Homes with Heart campaign, which will ensure the new home on Stream View Circle can meet the standards we set for all homes in the campaign: a home that is safe, accessible, comfortable, and familiar throughout the full continuum of life.

Matthew Hontar, who will be moving into the home, says: “I can’t wait to move into a new place, with all my friends!”

For over a decade, the sponsors of the Walter Hubbell Employment Services Fund have made significant financial contributions to the Heritage Christian Services Employment Alliance, sharing our vision of connecting people with disabilities with pre-employment and career opportunities.

“Gainful employment leads to greater economic self-sufficiency, an opportunity to use our skills and to participate more actively in the community,” said Marianne Durrant, director of the Employment Alliance.

With their latest gift to the home on Stream View Circle, the Walter Hubbell Employment Services Fund has diversified their support of our agency’s mission, allowing us to continue our work of making homes where people can live even through end-of-life care.

We cannot thank them enough for their continued support!
