Moving In – Alicia’s Story (March 2024)
By Mark Zawacki
The program on Five Mile Line Road in Penfield is a testament to the transformative power of our Homes with Heart campaign, which aims to make homes accessible, comfortable and familiar. Alicia Lenahan, one of the people who now lives at the house on Five Mile Line Road, shared her move-in experience with us.
“Before I moved into my new home on Five Mile Line Road in Penfield, I lived comfortably somewhere else for almost 10 years. I love my new, bigger home.”
“I have my own walk-in bathroom, which is a lot bigger than the one at my last house. There are no stairs I have to climb, and I love all the staff here and my housemates. My favorite thing to do is grocery shopping and getting out and about.”
“I love being supported by Heritage Christian, it makes me feel good!”
We share Alicia’s enthusiasm for her new home and we are excited for more people to benefit from the Homes with Heart campaign, which will impact an estimated 400 people over the next 60 years. Even though there is still money to raise, we are very close to our campaign goal of $9.1 million. Gifts to the campaign will allow people like Alicia to share in the joy of safe, accessible housing.
