Upgrades Create Comfortable and Accessible Spaces (Dec. 2024)

By Mark Zawacki

Heritage Christian Services designs homes that are comfortable, accessible and familiar to the people who live in them. Just as important is the experience of the staff members who do the complex and compassionate work of supporting people in those homes through all phases of their lives.

The renovations to the home on Osage Trail in Spencerport will include a new wing that will include additional living spaces, an expanded office area and a new, larger medical room. The expanded office will offer more space for collaboration, and the new medical room will enhance the ability of staff members to offer the highest level of compassionate care featuring more storage space, greater privacy and a more reassuring setting for health support.

“We’re looking forward to having more space where we can meet as a staff,” said April Korn, manager of the home. “And, our medical room is a bit too small at the moment, so we’re looking forward to having more room to move around and access what we need.”

The gentlemen who live at the home are also excited for the upgrades. “They love watching the construction,” April said. “They can’t wait to see the finished product.”

Renovations to existing homes are just as exciting as new builds. In many cases, renovating presents good financial stewardship outcomes while ensuring that staff members and the people we support have the experience they deserve in a Heritage Christian-supported home.
